Getting to Know Dr. Lulu
Dr. Lulu AKA the Momatrician is a board-certified pediatrician and mom of three sons. She is proudly Nigerian-born and is a youth suicide prevention activist. She is the CEO of Teenalive.com and Dr. Lulu’s Youth Health Center, both dedicated to Youth Suicide Prevention. She is a 2020 TEDx, United Nations, and Global Pan African Nations Speaker, a 3-time bestselling author, and a freelance writer.
She also coaches parents of LGBTQ children, helping them accept, understand and support their children so they can thrive and flourish without judgment or limitations. As a mother of a non-binary young adult, she is an LGBTQ+ activist and draws attention to the plight of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly transgender children and youth who have a high rate of suicide.
She has been featured on local affiliates of ABC, CBS, and NBC, and her articles have been published in Blackpast.org, Parents magazine, The Washington Post, and many other syndicated media outlets. She has testified at the Texas House of Representatives and is a Goodwill ambassador of Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission.
She is currently working on her 4th and 5th books, an anthology of immigrant women, and a pediatrician’s guide for raising LGBTQ+ kids.
