In 1977, the dream of the Leon Valley Public Library became a reality. Originally located on the corner of Poss and Evers, the original building still stands and is used as the Library Annex where the Friends of the Leon Valley Public Library house their monthly book sales.
Today, the Library boasts 10,000 square feet of space, the most recent addition having opened in December of 2013 as the Children's Wing (recently renamed the JOYCE MILLER TRENT CHILDREN'S WING in honor of our first library director).
We are digging out our 1977 fashions for our party and hope you will do the same! Honestly, this style of clothing is showing up in the stores again so it truly won't be that hard to be dressed to HUSTLE with us! Everyone is invited to join us as we play music, games and have activities from 1977. Besides the Leon Valley Public Library opening, what is one big thing from 1977 that impacts/ed you? Star Wars? Elvis' death? Apple II computer? Come enjoy a blast from the past with us as we celebrate 40 wonderful years in Leon Valley!
