My absolute favorite part of working in the library has nothing to do with books. Rather, it's the incredible people that come through. We are so fortunate to be a community and library small enough that eventually, we can greet you by name when you come in! I'd like to start introducing residents to you, as they give me permission!
Mackenzi Wood is a library member that typically pops in to grab some movies with her husband or load up on cookbooks to read. They moved to Leon Valley a couple years ago, purchased a home and renovated the kitchen into the kitchen of her dreams. What is one of Mackenzi's hobbies? Hmmm, amateur baking. Goes well in that dream kitchen!
However, I "met" Mackenzi via email.....she emailed me because she had an "issue" to deal with. You see, Mackenzi is an incredible blogger and had just launched her most recent blog about being an amateur baker. The biggest problem being an amateur baker? Well, you just CAN'T eat all that you bake, so perhaps your local library would like to take some of it off your hands. Mackenzi was kind enough to offer us some of her delicacies and upon hearing the words berries and lemon, the yes was out of my mouth before I really comprehended what she was offering!
I'm going to leave a link here to Mackenzi's blog and the incredible "BLUEBERRY LEMONADE BUNDT CAKE". We tried it at the library and if you love lemon, this is for you. It's got wonderfully tart lemon flavor, the not so sweet cake and blackberries. DELISH is my rating! I invite you to read her blog about this an try the recipe yourself. As more goodies arrive, we just might share more!
