An experiment to pick up and do at home! Watch a balloon blow up by itself using just a bottle, some yeast, sugar & warm water. One per person as long as they last! (school kids)
Time & Location
Sep 12, 2026, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Leon Valley Public Library, 6425 Evers Rd, Leon Valley, TX 78238, USA
About the event
Bags with the materials to conduct the experiment will be handed out, first-come, first-served, one per participant
After the complete sacks are handed out, we will also hand out "just-add-yeast" versions, until all the bags are gone. The yeast balloon experiment demonstrates how yeast ferments sugar to produce carbon dioxide, inflating a balloon without blowing air into it. The experiment takes at least an hour to get going, so we are handing it out to do at home in comfort. Saturday, September 12 until supplies exhausted
Geared to school kid/teen ages
