The Leon Valley Public Library offers a variety of services to support the community's educational, informational, and recreational needs. These services aim to enhance the community's access to information, support lifelong learning, and foster a love of reading and discovery. Library Cards
Library cards are free for Leon Valley residents and business owners.
Non-residents may purchase a library card for:

$20 per family, per year
-
$10 per year for seniors
Bexar County and San Antonio residents may also be eligible to use the library through the TexShare Card Program. Ask a staff member for details.

Apply in Person
Visit the Leon Valley Public Library and bring:

A valid photo ID

Proof of residency
To register through TexShare, bring both your TexShare card and your home library card.

Start Your Application Online
You may begin your application by creating an account through the library catalog. You will receive a temporary account number that provides limited access.
To receive your official library card and permanent account number, you must visit the library so staff can verify your identity and address.

InterLibrary Loans (ILL)
Can’t find what you’re looking for in our collection? Our Interlibrary Loan service may be able to help.
Through Interlibrary Loan, Leon Valley Public Library cardholders can request books, articles, and other materials from participating libraries across the country.

How It Works
1. Submit a Request
Ask a staff member to place an Interlibrary Loan request for the item you need, or request through your account online.
2. Wait for Confirmation
We’ll contact you when the item arrives or let you know if it cannot be located. Requests typically take a few weeks to process.
3. Pick Up Your Item
Collect the item at the Leon Valley Public Library and return it by the assigned due date.

Technology & Office Services
Stay connected and take care of everyday tasks at the Leon Valley Public Library.

Public Computers
Public computers are available to everyone.
​
Library cardholders may log in using their library card number and password, which is usually the 10-digit phone number associated with the account. Visitors without a library card can stop by the circulation desk to request a guest pass.
​
Public computers shut down 15 minutes before the library closes.
​
Free Wi-Fi
Connect to the library's ReadMoreOften Wi-Fi network from inside the library, on the porch, or in the parking lot.
​
To access the internet, select the ReadMoreOften network, accept the Terms of Use on the login page, and then click Connect at the bottom of the screen.
​
Wi-Fi is available before and after regular library hours, including days when the library is closed.
​
Printing and Copying

Black and white: $0.10 per page
-
Color: $0.50 per page
​
There is currently a 20 page limit per print, with exceptions for educational needs.
​
Notary Services
Notary services are currently unavailable.
​
